Coming Soon: Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom

The Oscar season is heating up as Netflix has released the trailer for the upcoming Awards hopeful, Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom. The film is adapted from two-time Pulitzer Prize winner August Wilson’s play, of the same name that celebrates the transformative power of the blues and the artists who refuse to let society’s prejudices dictate their worth. As the film nears release, the first trailer to the film has been released.

Directed by George C. Wolfe and adapted for the screen by Ruben Santiago-Hudson, the film is produced by Denzel Washington and Todd Black.
