Chiwetel Ejiofor in Talks to Voice Scar in Disney’s Lion King

Disney’s live action adaptation of The Lion King has their Scar!

Chiwetel Ejiofor, who was nominated for an Academy Award for his leading role in 12 Years a Slave, and most recently co-starring in Marvel’s Doctor Strange,  is in talks to voice the character of Scar, the iconic villain in Disney’s live-action reimagining of its classic.

Jon Favreau, who directed the live-action 2015 remake of The Jungle Book, will be directing The Lion King, which stars  Donald Glover as Simba, and James Earl Jones as his father, Mufasa, also voiced the character in the 1994 animated film. Seth Rogen, Billy Eichner and John Oliver are also set to co-star in the film.
