The CW returned to Sunday night programming for the first time in years last night and the network is off to a solid start on the night as each of their shows premiered well.
On The CW, Supergirl scored a 0.5 rating in adults 18-49 and 1.53 million viewers – even with its premiere last year and its 2017-18 season average. At 9 p.m., the series premiere of the Charmed reboot retained 100% of its Supergirl lead-in with a 0.5 demo rating and 1.54 million viewers. Impressive showing for a network that hasn’t been a factor on the night in quite some time.
On ABC, The Alec Baldwin Show had the night’s lowest 18-49 rating at 0.4 and 2.17 million viewers. Dancing With the Stars: Juniors (0.7, 4.57 million viewers) was even with last week and Shark Tank (0.7, 3.69 million viewers) ticked up slightly at 9 p.m. America’s Funniest Home Videos led off the night with a 0.9 demo score and 5.69 million viewers, its best of the season thus far.
CBS got an NFL assist with overruns boosting God Friended Me which drew a 1.1 in adults 18-49 and 7.99 million viewers, holding fairly well vs. the 1.3 for its series debut two weeks ago, also on an NFL Sunday. (It was at a 0.9 without a football bump last week.) NCIS: Los Angeles averaged a 0.9 and 7.35 million viewers and Madam Secretary scored a 0.6 and 5.59 million viewers, pending updates.
FOX, which didn’t get its usual NFL bump, saw its lineup dip week to week. The Simpsons (1.0, 2.51 million viewers) and Family Guy (0.8, 1.93 million viewers) each fell 0.4 vs. their September 30 season premieres. Bob’s Burgers (0.9, 2.05 million viewers) was off two-tenths of a point and Rel was down three tenths at 0.5 and 1.35 million viewers.
