Carnival Row Renewed For Season 2 At Amazon

Carnival Row hasn’t made its debut on Amazon yet but the streamer is throwing its support behind the series with an early season 2 renewal.

Carnival Row is slated to premiere August 30 on Amazon’s Prime Video platform. It stars Orlando Bloom and Cara Delevingne and is set in a Victorian fantasy world where mythological creatures live alongside humans. Bloom’s human detective is investigating a string of gruesome murders while also carrying on an affair with Delevingne’s refugee faerie. The series also stars David Gyasi, Karla Crome, Indira Varma, and Tamzin Merchant. The show was heavily promoted at San Diego Comic-Con with a Carnival Row themed party that also hosted a screening for the pilot.

The Amazon Studios and Legendary TV show is from executive producers Marc Guggenheim, Rene Echevarria, Jon Amiel, Bloom, and Travis Beacham. It is based on Beacham’s script A Killing on Carnival Row, which was on the first edition of the Black List in 2005.
