The second trailer for Birds of Prey has arrived and it shows that Harley Quinn and her girl gang are definitely looking for a fight.
In the film, newly-single Harley (Margot Robbie) is looking for some independence and, in the process, meets Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell), and Renée Montoya (Rosie Perez). Together, the women must protect Cassandra Cain (Ella Jay Basco) as they face off against Gotham bad boy Roman Sionis (Evan McGregor). Along the way, there will be lots of mayhem, including explosions, the frequent use of a carnival-sized mallet, and hand-to-hand combat. What more could a girl want?
The new trailer certainly looks fun and also looks like it’s setting itself apart from most of its comic book movie counterparts. It’s also a smart move giving center stage to Harley Quinn, minus the Joker, who won’t be appearing in any capacity in the film. The Joker in question would be Jared Leto’s Joker from Suicide Squad, not Joaquin Phoenix’s awards-favorite take from his film.
Birds of Prey and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn hits screens of February 7.
