Bill & Ted’s Keanu Reeves & Alex Winter Give “Excellent” Message To Graduating Seniors At San Dimas High

What would be the most excellent gift if you were a departing senior at San Dimas High School? How about a message from Bill & Ted themselves, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter, during your virtual graduation ceremony.

Reeves and Winter starred in Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure, which takes place in San Dimas, California. The characters attended San Dimas High in the film, which centers on a history project Bill and Ted must complete for school. Their world is turned upside-down when they find a time machine and use it to interact firsthand with some of history’s biggest names.

The bodacious message from the two actors was given before the graduating seniors’ names were read. Reeves and Winter appeared in a video message with Reeves wearing a shirt that read “Be Excellent to Each Other” and the two introducing themselves as “Wyld Stallyns”, the name of their band in the film. They then gave their words of encouragement to the graduating class:

“We know that it’s a tough time right now and you’re having to do this virtual graduation. We want to wish you the best of lucky moving forward! Congratulations to the graduation class of 2020. Well done!”

If I couldn’t have a proper high school graduation due to a global pandemic, I’d take a cool message from Bill & Ted to make a true parting high school memory for myself. Reeves and Winter both starred in the first film and the 1991 sequel, Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey. A new sequel, Bill & Ted Face the Music is slated to open on August 21. You can check out the graduation message at the 18:27 mark in the video below.
