‘Batman’ Solo Film Won’t Be Out for Another Year and a Half

As first reported by Comicbook.com, it looks like Ben Affleck’s upcoming standalone Batman film in the DCEU won’t hit theaters for at least another year and a half as confirmed by Time Warner CEO Jeff Bewkes. Currently, the standalone Batman movie is in pre-production with test footage and casting news leaking recently.

At a recent investor conference, Bewkes elaborated that that movie was still about 18 months away.

“The reboot of Batman with Ben Affleck was a big success. He’s going to be [executive producer] on Justice League and that’s helpful to that team. Ben announced a Batman movie [that] he’s going to direct, star, write for. I think it’s a year and a half out. So, the strategy worked.”

No word yet on whether that means that filming will start in 18 months or if that’s when it’ll hit theaters. It’s safe to assume we might not see it until 2020 given the already planned DC schedule.
