When they say Bad Boys For Life, they mean it. Fresh off the best reviews of the franchise so far & a January Thursday night record-breaking preview gross of $6.36 million, “The Hollywood Reporter” is reporting that Bad Boys 4 is officially in the works.
Chris Bremner, who worked on Bad Boys for Life, has been tapped to pen the script for the next film & Will Smith & Martin Lawrence are expected to return. The primary goal is to make it less of a gap between films (for instance, Bad Boys II came out 18 years ago). The time lag was due to several factors, such as spiraling budgetary costs, but also about finding the right story. Bad Boys For Life had many starts & stops until it finally found its footing but keeping Chris Bremner on should help. Sony also worked out a nice budget of $90 million compared to the $130 million of Bad Boys II.
Bad Boys For Life opened wide today & is expected dominate MLK weekend at the box office.
