Andy Serkis’ Directorial Debut & Battle Of The Sexes Headline the London Film Festival

The 61st edition of the BFI London Film Festival has revealed its second film in its line-up. The festivals opening-night film will include first time director Andy Serkis’ directorial debut, Breathe. 

Along with Breathe, potential Oscar player, Battle of the Sexes has been named to premiere at the American Express Gala, with the film having its European premiere on Oct. 7 at London’s Odeon Leicester Square theater.

Battle of the Sexes will be world premiering in Toronto in September and tells the story behind the famed 1973 tennis match between women’s world champion Billie Jean King (Emma Stone) and Bobby Riggs (Steve Carell). Stone, along with Andrea Riseborough and Elisabeth Shue, directors Valeria Faris and Jonathan Dayton are all expected to attend the premiere.

The full lineup for the London Film Festival, that runs from Oct. 4-Oct. 15, will be revealed on Aug. 31.
