Alex, Inc. Canceled At ABC

With the release of ABC’s fall schedule today, it became officially clear that freshman comedy, Alex, Inc. would not be a part of it. The network has canceled the Zach Braff comedy after only one season.

The series got off to a decent start with its March 28 premiere, earning a 1.1 in the demo and 4.6 million viewers and retaining 79% of its The Goldbergs lead-in. Alex, Inc. faltered in its second week, though, posting a 0.9 and drawing 3.83 million viewers. Serving as the lead-in to veteran comedy Modern Family, it has settled in around that demo number since.

On the show, Braff played Alex Schuman, an inquisitive journalist, husband, and father who dives headfirst into the brave new world of entrepreneurship when he quits his stable job and starts his own business. The series also starred Tiya Sircar, Elisha Henig, Audyssie James, Hillary Anne Matthews & Michael Imperioli.
