Alec Baldwin Drops Out Of Joker Movie

First, he was in, and now he’s out. After just joining the Joker movie, Alec Baldwin has dropped out of the project.

It looks like scheduling conflicts played a role with his sudden departure. Production begins September 10 for the film and talks went down to the wire, given how close it is to cameras rolling. Warner Bros. had no comment about Baldwin’s exit. He was to play Thomas Wayne, Bruce Wayne’s father.

Baldwin revealed he was no longer doing the film in a “USA Today” interview a mere two days after he was announced to be co-starring in the movie. He told the publication “I’m no longer doing that movie. I’m sure there are 25 guys who can play that part”.

Joaquin Phoenix will star as the titular villain in the Warner Bros. film, which will focus on how he become the Clown Prince of Crime. Todd Phillips is co-writing and directing the project which also stars Robert De Niro, Zazie Beetz, and Marc Maron.
