Are You Afraid of the Dark? Film in the Works

In what surely will bring excitement to fans of SNICK, Are You Afraid Of The Dark? may be heading to the big screen. First reported by The Tracking Board, the newly developed Paramount Players division is producing a movie based on Nickelodeon’s popular horror anthology TV series. The exciting part of this news is that Gary Dauberman, the screenwriter behind both Annabelle: Creation and the massive surprise hit, It, is set to write the film.

Are You Afraid of the Dark? is a smart move as the show was a staple of 90’s children’s viewing schedule. The series was one of the premiere series on Nickelodeon’s Saturday night lineup, which targeted an older demographic with shows such as All That and Clarissa Explains It All.  I, for one, can’t wait for this film to be released as this show was a staple of my childhood.
