In one of the most prestigious “best of” of the year, AFI (American Film Institute) has announced its annual list of the Top 10 films of the year on Wednesday and many of the choices re among the favorite to land Best Picture nominations at the Oscars. The AFI has a strong track record at previewing the potential Best Picture line-up at the Academy Awards. Since the academy expanded the Best Picture category in 2010, the AFI has previewed 70 of the 80 nominees that were American-made; that translates into a staggering 87.5% success rate.
