Last week, Film twitter began to speculate around a tweet stating that a director with a distinguished resume on film and television will have a film at this years Cannes Film Festival. According to two well-informed sources, there will even be a David Lynch feature film which has been completely off the radar and stars Laura Dern — either as a cameo or a supporting role — along with some other Lynch regulars.
David Lynch’s last film Inland Empire is currently receiving a small theatrical re-release. No word on what the film is titled or premise, however, Cannes will reveal its lineup on Thursday so cinephiles should find out soon.
