With only one major release in theaters this past weekend, Marvel’s Eternals repeated as box office champion. Despite a 46% rotten score on Rotten Tomatoes and its “B” CinemaScore from opening night audiences, the film dropped 61% & grossed $27.5 million over the weekend. Debuting in second is Clifford the Big Red Dog which grossed $16.42 million over the weekend and $22 million since its release on Wednesday which is seen as a win as the film had day-and-date release as the film is also available for streaming on Paramount+.
Rounding out the top 5, Dune grossed $5.5 million over the weekend. while No Time to Die & Venom: Let There Be Carange grossed 4.6 & 4 million respectively. With Ghostbusters: Afterlife releasing this weekend, Eternals run at the top should come to an end with the release of the highly anticipated film.
