While Creed II looked to be the final chapter in the franchise, it looks as the story of Adonis Creed is far from over. Zach Baylin, the writer behind the upcoming Will Smith film King Richard, has been chosen to write the third installment of the boxing film franchise for MGM.
While the exact details of the film are not known, the movie will continue the story of Adonis Creed, played by Michael B. Jordan. With the hiring of Baylin, the next step is to find a director.
The first Creed film, written and directed by Ryan Coogler, grossed $173 million at the global box office following its release in 2015 and led to an Academy Award nomination for Sylvester Stallone. Creed II (2018) was directed by Steven Caple Jr. from a screenplay by Juel Taylor and Sylvester Stallone and earned more than $214 million worldwide.
