We are nearing the end of the tv season and networks have begun to renew their series. ABC has handed out early renewals for The Bachelor, Dancing With the Stars, America’s Funniest Home Videos and Child Support. The pickups come as ABC typically waits until May to hand out additional season renewals for all of its fare.
The Bachelor will return for a remarkable 23rd season after its most recent season has averaged a 2.2 rating among the 18-49 demographic and 7.4 million viewers. The March 5 finale overtook NBC’s The Voice in the demo and helped ABC to win the night.
America’s Funniest Home Videos will return for its 29th season, which cements the franchise as ABC’s longest-running primetime entertainment show in history. Hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, the series pulls in a 1.1 among adults 18-49 and 5.5 million viewers with three days of delayed viewing.
Savage’s Child Support will return for a second season after drawing a 0.8 in the demo and 4.3 million viewers.
