The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story came out on top in the cable ratings last night although it was down from The People vs. O.J. Simpson’s premiere ratings in the 18-49 demo.
The series scored a 0.7 demo rating and 2.22 million viewers. This was down from the 2.0 demo score of the O.J. and its 2.48 million viewers. This was to be expected though. Th O.J. case is way more prominent in pop culture compared to the Versace murder and it was likely to skew much younger because of that. A 0.7 is also a solid demo score for cable or basic cable so FX is likely pleased with the premiere numbers.
