The Good Doctor has been the true success story of the Fall TV season and its winter finale allowed the show to continue to finish as the top choice for scripted programming on Monday nights.
Even though there was a Monday Night Football pre-emption, the series hit a 1.7 in the 18-49 demo and 9.41 million viewers. It could come down a point or so or even stay steady when the final ratings are released but the show has proven to be a true self-starter. It doesn’t need a huge lead-in to build its audience and it’s far ahead as the highest-rated new drama of the new season. It will be interesting to see how it performs when it returns after a bit of a hiatus.
Man with a Plan was steady for CBS at a 1.1 demo rating and 6.32 million viewers, but Superior Donuts (0.9, 5.50 million viewers) and 9JKL (0.8, 4.65 million viewers) each slipped a tenth of a point.
After last week’s crossover boost, Supergirl returned to its usual 0.5 demo score and 1.74 million viewers on The CW. Valor was on its average at a 0.2 demo rating and 999,000 viewers. FOX’s Lucifer was steady at a 0.9 demo rating and 3.44 million viewers, but The Gifted fell a tenth to a 0.8 demo rating and 2.79 million viewers. It’s interesting that The Gifted began its first few episodes out rating its lead-in but in recent weeks has fallen behind it.
