It was good news for One of last week’s series premieres but not so much for the other shows that premiered last Sunday.
The second episode of FOX’s Ghosted on Sunday matched its premiere ratings from last week with a 1.4 in the 18-49 demo and 3.61 million viewers. Holding steady, especially when the demo rating is in in line with network performance, is good news for any new series on network TV. A post-NFL Simpsons drew a 2.2 & 5.37 million viewers, vs. 2.6 and 1.6 for the 8 and 8:30 p.m. half-hours the same week last year. Family Guy (1.4, 3.09 million viewers) and The Last Man on Earth (1.0, 2.26 million viewers) each improved by a tenth.
Sunday night was a bit more rough for CBS. Wisdom of the Crowd dipped from its premiere, falling three tenths of a point from its premiere to 1.0 demo rating and 7.95 million viewers.. NCIS: Los Angeles (1.0, 8.38 million viewers) also came down 0.3 for CBS, while Madam Secretary’s 0.8 demo score and 7.13 million viewers was behind the 1.1 for last year’s premiere and its 2016-17 average of 0.9.
on ABC, Ten Days in the Valley dipped a tenth to 0.4 in the 18-49 demo and 2.62 million viewers. That is a very low demo and rating so I suspect, unless they’re entirely dedicated to it, this could end up being the first casualty of the fall TV season.
