The 73rd Emmy Awards have come and gone and Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso, which led all comedies with 20 nominations, claimed four trophies on Sunday night at the 73rd annual ceremony honoring excellence. Lasso won for Outstanding Comedy Series, Lead Actor (Sudeikis), Supporting Actress (Hannah Waddingham), and Supporting Actor (Brett Goldstein).
On the drama side, The Crown, which was tied with The Mandalorian for the most-nominated drama series (24), pulled off a trio of sweeps: Olivia Colman and Josh O’Connor won Lead Actress and Lead Actor, Gillian Anderson and Tobias Menzies, and the show also landed writing and directing statuettes. Including wins at the Creative Arts Emmys, The Crown tallied 11 wins.
