As an honored member of the Latino Entertainment Journalists Association, the 4th annual LEJA Film Award winners were a delight. Jane Campion’s The Power of the Dog took home the top prize and added director, adapted screenplay, and editing to its trophy room.
The most awards was a three-way tie between The Power of the Dog, Dune and Encanto with four each. Walt Disney Pictures won the most awards for a studio with six.
Lin-Manuel Miranda was also selected by the LEJA membership as the recipient of the Latino Activism Award, while John Leguizamo is being honored with the 2022 Rita Moreno Lifetime Achievement Award for this year’s special honorees. 2022 Latino breakout performer award went to Rachel Zegler after her outstanding breakout performance as Maria in West Side Story.
