HBO is sticking by its two critically acclaimed comedies. The cable network has renewed Veep & Silicon Valley for new seasons.
The renewals are not surprising given the critical success both shows have garnered since their respective debuts in 2012 and 2014 & the pickups come midway through their current seasons, which both wrap on June 25.
Veep has received 11 Emmys thus far, with a record five wins for star Julia Louis-Dreyfus in the best lead actress in a comedy series category. The series has also taken home the Emmy for best comedy series two years in a row. Louis-Dreyfus has also received two Screen Actors Guild awards for her portrayal of now-former president Selina Meyer. Silicon Valley, from showrunners Mike Judge and former Seinfeld writer Alec Berg, has also won two Emmys.
