X-Men: Dark Phoenix (Trailer 2)

Soon after Jessica Chastain appeared on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon to preview a clip from X-Men: Dark Phoenix, 20th Century Fox released a new trailer for the film and it shows that Jean Grey is a force that separates the X-Men into two groups: one that wants to save her and another that wants to destroy her for the greater good.

Written and directed by Simon Kinberg, who produces alongside Hutch Parker, Lauren Shuler Donner, Todd Hallowell, Dark Phoenix sees the X-Men face their most formidable and powerful foe: one of their own, Jean Grey. During a rescue mission in space, Jean is nearly killed when she is hit by a mysterious cosmic force. Once she returns home, this force not only makes her infinitely more powerful but far more unstable. Wrestling with this entity inside her, Jean unleashes her powers in ways she can neither comprehend nor contain. The film stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix has been shuffled on the schedule a few times and some early word is the film isn’t quite up to par but this trailer is much better than the first and a new summer release date indicates the studio at least has some faith it.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix hits screens on June 7. Check out the new movie poster for the film below:
