Shooter Renewed For Season 3 At USA Network

A little-broken leg from its star Ryan Phillippe hasn’t stopped USA Network from standing by Shooter. Despite that incident shaving two episodes from its second season, the network has renewed the series for a third season.

Production on season three begins in January in Los Angeles and will likely consist of 13 episodes – up from 10 and 8 in seasons one and two. Season three will pick up where season two left off and use all new footage with viewers getting resolution from its second season which was cut short from a planned 10 episode run after Phillippe broke his leg.

The drama based on the 2007  film that starred Mark Wahlberg, has been a solid rating performer for the USA Network. The series rises 133% (700,000) and 96% (2.5 million) among adults in the coveted 18-49 demo and total viewers when seven days of DVR playback are included. Season helped the network improve its Tuesday numbers with an average of 2.6 million total viewers and 974,000 in the key demo with seven days of DVR playback.
