What has become common with most live ratings for the night, a lot of shows saw slight dips as the crowded Wednesday field fought to be noticed.
On Fox, Empire remained Wednesday’s No. 1 show in adults 18-49, but not by much. The series drew a series-low 1.8 rating in the demographic and 5.54 million viewers, a tenth of a point better than Survivor (1.7, 8.01 million viewers) and Modern Family (1.7, 6.14 million viewers) . Star (1.3, 4.34 million viewers) was down 0.2 vs. last week.
The CW’s Riverdale came down some from its series high last week, falling two tenths to a 0.6 demo score and 1.78 million viewers. That’s still the show’s second-best performance ever. Dynasty posted a 0.3 demo rating and 980,000 viewers, even with last week’s final number.
Designated Survivor hit a series low 0.8 demo score and 4.34 million viewers, slipping a tenth for ABC, while The Goldbergs (1.4, 5.50 million viewers), Speechless (1.1, 4.33 million viewers) and American Housewife (1.4, 5.10 million viewers) all held steady with last week’s fast nationals (The Goldbergs adjusted up in the finals).
SEAL Team drew a 1.0 demo rating and 7.03 million viewers for CBS, down from the 1.2 a week ago, Criminal Minds (1.1, 5.91 million viewers) was steady. The Blacklist (0.9, 5.31 million viewers) and Law & Order: SVU (1.2, 5.58 million viewers) were also even on NBC, but Chicago PD (1.1, 5.70 million viewers) was off a tenth.
