Reel TV Ratings (Wednesday) – 9-1-1 Stays Strong In Week 2

It might be too early to call it, but FOX may have a hit with their new procedural series 9-1-1. The Ryan Murphy procedural drama held up considerably well in week 2.

The series came down 0.3 to a 1.5 demo rating and 5.49 million viewers but still led its hour and built substantially on its lead-in, The X-Files (1.0, 3.89 million viewers, also down 0.3). Didn’t expect to see the latter show slide so quickly but I’m sure FOX was expecting much more from it.

CBS’ Criminal Minds improved by a tenth of a point to a 1.0 demo score and 5.65 million viewers, while SEAL Team was steady at a 0.9 demo rating and 6.14 million viewers. On ABC, The Goldbergs matched its 18-49 demo rating from a week ago with a 1.5 and 6.01 million viewers. Speechless was up a tenth versus last week with a 1.2 demo rating and 4.44 million viewers. Modern Family (1.6, 5.79 million viewers) and American Housewife (1.2, 4.56 million viewers) both slipped a tenth.

The Blacklist held steady at a 1.0 demo rating and 6.11 million viewers for NBC. Law & Order: SVU was off a tenth at a 1.3 demo score and 6.07 million viewers. Chicago PD ended the night for the network and was even with last week’s preliminary 1.3 demo rating and 6.84 million viewers.

The CW aired repeats on Wednesday night.
