9-1-1 is proving that it earned its early season 2 renewal because it rose significantly in its third outing.
The series rose 0.3 in the 18-49 demo to a 1.8 and 6.16 million viewers. It tied Modern Family (1.8, 6.17 million viewers, +0.2) in the demo to top the night and also significantly improved on its lead-in, The X-Files, as well. The latter show actually increased as well by 0.1 to a 1.1 demo rating and 3.94 million viewers.
The rest of ABC’s comedies improved as well: The Goldbergs (1.7, 6.47 million viewers, +0.2) had its second-best rating of the season, Speechless (1.3, 4.78 million viewers, +0.1) tied its second-highest number and American Housewife (1.3, 4.99 million viewers) was up a tenth.
On CBS, SEAL Team rose two tenths to a 1.1 demo rating and 6.63 million viewers while Criminal Minds matched its 1.0 demo score and 5.59 million viewers from a week ago.
On NBC, all three of their dramas were up a tenth: The Blacklist (1.1, 6.52 million viewers), Law & Order: SVU (1.4, 6.19 million viewers) and Chicago PD (1.4, 6.63 million viewers). The Blacklist and Chicago PD actually tied their season highs with these numbers.
On The CW, Riverdale (0.5, 1.45 million viewers) & Dynasty (0.2, 640,000 viewers) were on par with their numbers from before the winter hiatus.
