NBC Rebooting The Munsters

The Munsters are heading back to the small screen for the second time!

Seth Meyers and Odd Mom Out star and creator Jill Kargman are developing a new version of the once popular CBS show. This time around, the show will center on an offbeat family determined to stay true to themselves as they struggle to fit in in “hipster” Brooklyn.

Kargman is writing the script and along with Meyers will executive produce. Universal TV is no stranger to The Munsters, as it also produced the original series, which ran on CBS from 1964-1966 for 70 episodes.

NBC previously tried to reboot The Munsters in 2012 with a darker take on the family entitled, Mockingbird Lane. NBC ran the pilot as a Halloween special in October of that year, however, it failed to be picked up as a series.
