Jenny Slate to Star in Disney Junior’s Reboot of Muppet Babies

Muppet Babies are heading back to a tv near you!

Zootopia’s Jenny Slate has signed on to voice the role of Miss Nanny in Disney Junior’s animated series Muppet Babies, which debuts in March on the Disney Channel.

For fans of the original series. the show will keep the tradition with the original Emmy-winning series, as Miss Nanny’s character will be visible only from the torso down. Slate stated,

“I was so excited when they asked me to be Miss Nanny; I was excited in general to hear they were returning,”

The series will use the characters Kermit the Frog, Piggy, Fozzie Bear, Gonzo, Animal, Muppet Baby and Summer Penguin to encourage children’s creative thinking and use of their imagination. Also joining the cast are Melanie Harrison as Piggy; Dee Bradley Baker as Animal; Ben Diskin as Gonzo; Eric Bauza  as Fozzie Bear; and Jessica DiCicco as Summer. Finally,  Kermit will be played by  Matt Danner.
