Reel Rumor: Will Jake Gyllenhaal Replace Ben Affleck in Matt Reeves’ Batman Film?

Rumor has it that Jake Gyllenhaal may be replacing Ben Affleck in the DCEU in Matt Reeves‘ upcoming standalone Batman film. No official decision has been made yet to replace Affleck but rumors abound as he’s stated in the past that he wants to make an exit from playing the character. It would make sense to do so before The Batman starts production. Reeves also seems to be onboard to have Gyllenhaal take the realm according to reporter John Campea.

“I’m hesitant to say anything, but I talked to a Hollywood producer yesterday who told me who Matt Reeves wants as Batman. And, I’ll be honest with you, the name they [gave] me caught me a little bit by surprise. I called somebody else later in the day, saying, ‘Hey, I heard this, is there any validity to this?’ And they said, ‘Well, Matt does want him.’ But, that doesn’t mean it’s going to happen. There’s been no movement or anything like that. It doesn’t mean anything’s going to happen.”

Would you want to see Jake as the Bat?
