The Fate of the Furious Starts Off Big Overseas

The Fate Of The Furious has sped off the starting block. In eight offshore markets on Wednesday, it put $7.9 million in the international box office tank. When you include previews in 12 other markets that figure rises to $19.7 million.

Meanwhile in China, pre-sales totaled $43.5 million two hours before Thursday midnights began. That is an all/time record. Directed by F. Gary Gray, F8 has had the biggest opening of 2017 in every market where it has been released so far (this does not include China). China kicked off its Thursday midnight screenings at 9:00 AM PST. Pre-sales had totaled a record-breaking LC300m ($43.5M) two hours before shows commenced.

At the age of five, I knew I wanted to write movies and about them. I've set out to make those dreams come true. As an alumni of the Los Angeles Film Academy, I participated in their Screenwriting program, while building up my expertise in film criticism. I write reviews that relate to the average moviegoer by educating my readers and keeping it fun. My job is to let you know the good, the bad, and the ugly in the world of cinema, so you can have your best moviegoing experience. You can find more of my writing on Instagram @g_reelz.
