F. Gary Gray In Talks To Direct Men In Black Spinoff

The Men In Black spinoff looks to be heating up. Director F. Fary Gray is the top choice by Sony to relaunch the sci-fi comedy franchise.

Negotiations are said to be underway and if they come to fruition, it will be another potential hit for the career rebirth of Gray which started with Straight Outta Compton and continued with the worldwide behemoth, The Fate of the Furious.

Men in Black has a script by Iron Man scribes Matt Holloway & Art Marcum and the studio greenlit the picture on their draft. Sony has had success with relaunching franchises lately. Spider-Man: Homecoming brought Marvel back into the fold and resulted in good reviews and solid box office while Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle became the surprise hit of the holiday season and is continuing to bring in money.

Sony has set a release date of June 14, 2019, and the original cast members, Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones, aren’t expected to return. The plan is to bring in a whole new cast.
