While it was no surprise that that the Rocky franchise would continue following the massive success of Ryan Coogler’s Creed, which to some, including myself is the best installment in the franchise since the original. However, the film has had a slow start in its production because the film has spent the last two years without a director, however, that has now changed because Rocky himself, Sylvester Stallone officially announced that he will be directing Creed 2. Sylvester Stallone made this announcement over his personal Instagram account, where he explained the situation rather briefly. Along with a red carpet photo of himself and Creed star Michael B. Jordan, Stallone wrote:

While Sly states that he is directing, Stallone failed to mention as to whether or not he will be co-starring in the upcoming Creed 2. In the caption he mentions that he will be both directing and producing the feature, but fails to mention whether or not he will be reprising his role as Rocky Balboa. As Creed concluded, Rocky wasn’t doing so well as he had been diagnosed with non-Hodgkins lymphoma and going through chemotherapy. Time will tell as to whether or not Rocky will be in the film.
