New rumors bouncing around on Reddit have Batman fans speculating that the new Batman solo film directed by Matt Reeves may feature three of Batman’s biggest and best villains: Deathstroke, Joker, and Scarecrow. What we do already know is that Joe Manganiello is confirmed to play Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke. An image of him in action on the set of Justice League was leaked by Manganiello last year so it makes sense that he’ll appear in the standalone film.
Fans are also speculating that Jared Leto’s Joker will make an appearance. We could see Batman’s arch nemesis having a vital role in the film especially since they didn’t really get much onscreen time together in Suicide Squad with the exception of the car chase.
Another villain is Scarecrow. Scarecrow was previously played on the big screen by Cillian Murphy in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy, specifically in Batman Begins. Matt Reeves may want to bring him back and could have an entirely new design for the character. Scarecrow would give Reeves more room to delve into Batman’s psyche with Scarecrow’s gas inciting fear.
