Are You Afraid Of The Dark? Revival Renewed For Season Two At Nickelodeon

The new Midnight Society will be gathering around to tell more spooky tales. Nickelodeon has renewed the revival of Are You Afraid of The Dark? for a second season.

The episode order has yet to be determined for season two but we do know that there may be a “new Midnight Society group of kids” whose scary tales come to life in the new season of the anthology series. The revival was originally intended to be a three-part limited series event, but the creatives involved in the new show made it clear that they were interested in exploring more scary tales if the series proved to be successful.

The original series was a Nickelodeon staple back in the early 90s, running from 1990-1996. The show followed a group of friends who call themselves the Midnight Society. They gather around a fire each week to tell a horror story. That story then played out for the audience, anthology-style. Each episode had a new, frightening thing to terrorize its young audience, from vampires to ghosts to aliens to ghouls.

This generation’s newest members of the Midnight Society include Sam Ashe Arnold as Gavin, Miya Cech as Akiko, Tamara Smart as Louise, Jeremy Taylor as Graham; and Lyliana Wray as Rachel. Rafael Casal plays The Carnival of Doom’s ringmaster, Mr. Tophat.
