Michelle Monaghan is getting ready to conjure up something wicked. It has just been announced that the actress is joining Blumehouse-Sony’s reboot of The Craft.
Monaghan is joining the still growing cast of the reboot which already includes David Duchovny, Cailee Spaeny, Gideon Adlon, Lovie Simone, Zoey Luna, Nicholas Galitzine and Julian Grey. Much like when Duchovny was cast over a week ago, Monaghan’s role is being kept heavily under wraps.
The reboot of The Craft is directed, written and executive produced by Zoe Lister-Jones. The 1996 cult hit followed a newcomer at a Catholic prep high school who falls in with a trio of outcast teen girls who practice witchcraft and wage curses against those who tick them off. The film starred Fairuza Balk, Robin Tunney, Neve Campbell & Rachel True.
Monaghan will next be seen in Netflix’s 2020 geo-political thriller series Messiah in which she plays CIA agent Eve Geller. Last year, she reprised her role as Julia Meade in Mission Impossible: Fallout, which was the highest-grossing film in the Paramount Tom Cruise franchise with over $791 million worldwide.
