With the success of IT, another Stephen King adaptation is getting set to hit theaters as Paramount announced today that directors Dennis Widmyer and Kevin Kolsch are to direct the upcoming Pet Sematary film. Widmyer and Kolsch’s resume include Starry Eyes, and a few episodes of MTV’s Scream series.
Pet Sematary is based on King’s 1983 novel, tells the story of Louis Creed who attempts to bring back his dead son by placing him to rest in an Indian burial ground.The book was already made into a 1989 feature film, for which King personally wrote the screenplay. The upcoming film’s script will be writing by 1408’s Matthew Greenberg.
