After the success of John Wick 2, it was only a matter of time before John Wick 3 got a release date. Lionsgate has set a release for the John Wick: Chapter 3 and is expected to hit theaters on May 17, 2019.
The first two installments in the franchise have both been been a success for the studio with a combined $260 million in worldwide grosses and Lionsgate executives have indicated in recent months that they were planning a third movie. Both films were directed by Chad Stahelski with the scripts written by Derek Kolstad with Keanu Reeves portraying a hitman who is now retired seeking vengeance for the killing of his puppy, a gift from his late wife.
