The first half of 2017 was nothing short of underwhelming. Films that more than likely would fail to make any 10 has shown up on numerous best of the first half of 2017 lists. While the worst film of the year will be hard to top – The Bye Bye Man – it not only sets itself as the clear worst of the year but has entered the top 10 of worst horror films I’ve personally ever seen.
The best until two weeks ago was up for debate. While Get Out and Logan were the first two films of the year to not only be decent but fall under the category of great, the rest of the winter failed to deliver any hits.
As the months progressed and winter turned to spring, I wondered if I could even put a top 10 list together. However, thanks to the Tribeca Film Festival and the month of June, this week’s Reel Top 10 is able to cover the 10 best films I have viewed so far in 2017.
