Tony Danza is back!
After two broadcast pilot seasons in which he fielded multiple offers, Tony Danza is officially making his TV return. The star of the classic Who’s the Boss is set to star in and produce Netflix’s Original Series, The Good Cop, a straight-to-series dramedy from the creator of Monk.
The series is based on Israeli format of the same name, the 10-episode hourlong series stars Danza as Tony Sr., a disgraced, former NYPD officer who never followed the rules. He lives with his son, Tony Jr. who is yet to be cast, an earnest, obsessively honest NYPD detective who makes a point of always following the rules. They eventually become unofficial partners as Tony Sr. offers his overly cautious son share advice on everything from handling suspects to handling women. VP of original content for Netflix, Cindy Holland stated,
“We’re excited to bring viewers the return of Tony Danza, one of television’s most beloved icons,” “The Good Cop is a funny, charming procedural series that we think our members will love.”
This looks like the perfect match for Danza in his return to TV.
