Teen Wolf Reboot Planned by MTV

While Teen Wolf is set to launch its final season of 10 episodes on July 30th, it seems that MTV has plans for its future. Entertainment Weekly has confirmed that showrunner Jeff Davis is in early talks with MTV to turn the show into an anthology series and reboot it with a new cast and setting. There’s always the possibility of a character from the original to return as a cameo.

MTV president Chris McCarthy even announced the reboot in a recent The Hollywood Reporter interview stating that “these characters and these stories have hit a peak. We are talking with Jeff about how do we actually keep that franchise alive. And the beauty of the evolution of media is you can see the series going on through a series of podcasts and then see a resurrection of a new class in a couple years.”

MTV plans on continuing the show with its current narrative through a podcast series similar to Serial.  No word yet on when that will premiere but it is expected to start after the last episode of the series.
