Patty Jenkins Officially Closes Deal To Direct Wonder Woman Sequel

It was pretty much a done deal anyway but Variety has reported that Patty Jenkins has officially closed a deal to direct the sequel to Wonder Woman.

Actress Gal Gadot has already signed on to reprise the title role and the film is slated for release on December 13, 2019. Jenkins was already working on a script with Geoff Johns, who oversees the DC film universe along with Jon Berg for Warner Bros.

Wonder Woman has been a bright spot for the struggling DCEU. The film has grossed $409 million to date and $813 million worldwide. It was also critically acclaimed (92% on Rotten Tomatoes), something that has alluded other entries in the DCEU so far.

Along with the Wonder Woman sequel, Jenkins is also developing a TNT TV series with Chris Pine, who also starred in the DC summer hit.
