The final nail in this installment of The Mummy has been placed. According to deadline, Universal’s Tom Cruise film and first installment in the Dark Universe stands to lose an estimated $95M off of a final estimated global box office tally of $375M. That’s $75M at the domestic B.O., and $300M from overseas.
Despite the fact that the film had a large fan base overseas as it was the biggest global opening ever for Tom Cruise at $169.3M. However, $345M was spent in total production and global P&A spent. While the film is holding strong overseas as it was this weekend’s No. 1 overseas hold of $53M, those numbers are not good enough to save the film from a massive financial loss.
