Lifetime Orders Menendez Brothers Film with Courtney Love

The latest subject for a Lifetime movie will be the true crime story of the Menendez brothers – Lyle and Erik. Well known for killing their parents, the film will showcase their lives before the murders and after, including the abuse they endured at their father’s hands, while their mother looked the other way. Set to play their mother, Kitty Menendez, is actress and singer Courtney Love.

The film will include their trial proceedings, including their testimony that they were motivated to kill by a lifetime of sexual abuse by their father. They were ultimately sentenced to life without parole, and both remain in separate prisons today.

Lifetime’s untitled Menendez brothers film will be directed by Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato. The script is written by Abdi Nazemian. Production will begin next month in Vancouver.
