Joss Whedon In Talks To Write And Direct Batgirl Movie For Warner Bros.

Joss Whedon, the man behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer, is in early negotiations to write, direct and produce a Batgirl movie for Warner Bros.

The negotiations are in the early stages but the deal is said to be moving ahead in a big way. Toby Emmerich, Jon Berg, and Geoff Johns are also said to be attached.

Whedon last directed Avengers: Age of Ultron, the second in the Avengers series and he also helmed the first film as well. Both films made a bundle at the box office but the sequel wasn’t as warmly received and Whedon took a bit of a break after that film was released. The upside to him being involved in this DC property is that Whedon is no stranger to making a great project with a strong female lead so this could be in good hands if the deal goes through.

More to come…
