Fox Releasing R.L. Stine’s Fear Street as Theatrical Movie Series

After Goosebumps release two years ago, Fox is ready to tackle to work of R.L Stone once again. Fox is in talks to release an adaptation of the popular R.L. Stine book series Fear Street.

Leigh Jeniak, the  horror director who directed the indie film Honeymoon, has closed a deal to re-write and direct the film. The twist is that the upcoming deal calls for her to write three different scripts that could be shot back-to-back-to-back and released in three consecutive months.

Fear Street was a horror book series that Stine began prior to his wild success of his Goosebumps book series that was a craze throughout the 90’s. Fear Street was also very successful as it sold over 80 million books. While Goosebumps skewed to the younger teen market, Fear had a larger adult based audience. The stories were set in the fictional town of Shadyside, Ohio, and spanned three different times periods during the 1980’s and 90’s.
