Coming Soon: The Walking Dead (Season 8)

AMC continued its annual San Diego Comic Con The Walking Dead tradition using the show’s to debut the first trailer for the upcoming 8th season. Before the new trailer was screened, showrunner Scott M. Gimple and the cast took the stage with no introduction and went directly into a dedication to stuntman John Bernecker, who died July 12 after lading headfirst from a balcony on the show’s Georgia set while attempting a 22-foot fall.

“We didn’t know if we should do this panel today. But we wanted to be here for you and do something for John,” a somber Gimple said after noting Bernecker’s countless credits and how much the stuntman loved his job. “John was someone who was beloved in the stunt community. He was living his dream, and he helped other people do the same.”

With the news of The Walking Dead comic ending its run soon, this may be the beginning of the end for the series as ratings have dropped last season.
